CONNECTICUT - Heating oil prices have risen above $3.00 per gallon for the first time since dipping below that benchmark in October, 2008.
Wholesale and retail prices for #2 Heating Oil averages prices have risen by an average of $0.13 per gallon per week since the end of October, bringing the statewide average retail price to $3.12, (according to data from the State of CT Office of Policy and Management / Heating Oil Monitoring Program).
The economy heating up and demand for fuel increasing coupled with the seasonal drop in temperatures may cause prices to continue a slow but steady rise throughout the coldest months of the 2010-2011 New England heating season.
